To gain the maximum benefit from a team cohesion activity, it is, of course, essential to follow certain basic rules.<\/p>\n

Let’s begin with what isn’t always obvious: the schedule. <\/strong><\/p>\n

I know you’re very busy. However, an outing with colleagues must be scheduled in advance to ensure maximum attendance. <\/p>\n

To achieve this, it is necessary to plan ahead to secure a date that works for everyone. Such an experience is most effective with 100% team participation. <\/p>\n

What about the manager?<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I refer to 100% team participation, I also include management! I emphasize this point. If the leader does not engage and participate, the team dynamic is altered, and consequently, the debriefing becomes partially biased. <\/p>\n

What objective do you aim to achieve?<\/strong><\/p>\n

What should this team building activity<\/strong> achieve for your team? Do you wish to integrate new employees into an existing team? Do you want to foster collaboration between two departments and promote better communication? Or do you simply wish to strengthen the bonds of a team without issues? <\/p>\n

As you have understood, the choice of team building activity<\/strong> primarily depends on your objective. This is why most of our team building activities<\/strong> can be conducted in collaborative mode (Eco Car<\/a>, Kapla<\/a>, Play Back<\/a>, Roller Coaster<\/a>, etc.) or in competitive mode. This choice will enable the development of different approaches and skills tailored to the objectives you wish to achieve. <\/p>\n

Above all, avoid attempting to achieve too many different objectives in a single session. Be realistic; you only have a few hours. <\/p>\n

Selecting the right activity ensures the effectiveness of the debriefing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The debriefing is the cornerstone of team building<\/a>. Without it, a team building activity<\/strong> loses a significant portion of its value. It is during this review of the experience that participants will recognize their strengths and identify areas for improvement. <\/p>\n

Clearly established objectives beforehand enable the right questions to be asked. And the right questions enrich the post-experience review. <\/p>\n

Allow sufficient time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Approximately two hours are required for a team building<\/strong> activity. To this, approximately 20 to 30 minutes must be added for a debriefing. This amounts to nearly half a workday. Therefore, it is crucial to plan an appropriate schedule that accounts for any potential delays during the day. While we can accommodate delays of a few minutes, it becomes challenging to maintain the activity’s relevance when the delay becomes too substantial. <\/p>\n

Proper timing ensures effectiveness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During seminars, the activity is often scheduled at the end of the day and on the final day, when participants are fatigued and eager to return home.<\/p>\n

Schedule the team cohesion activity first thing, and if possible, on the first day. This way, team building becomes a dynamic tool to kickstart your meeting. You will surprise participants and set an energetic tone for the messages you wish to convey. Ultimately, you will benefit from the debriefing’s conclusions during subsequent interactions. <\/p>\n

In conclusion, for a team building activity<\/strong> to become an enriching experience for your team, it is ultimately quite straightforward. You simply need to adhere to these few conditions.
