Team Building by Teamway

For many years, sport, competition, and a certain notion of risk-taking were the main ingredients of a ‘good’ team building activity. In this game, individuals with a strong sense of leadership, good physical condition, and a penchant for adventurous challenges emerged stronger from such an activity. Conversely, the rest of the group often found themselves relegated to the background. As in competition, the podium only had three spots… for the top three!
Teamway approaches team building in a completely different way: accessibility for all! In each of our activities, every employee can find their place and contribute to the team’s success. From the most manual to the most intellectual, from the smallest to the tallest, from the youngest to the oldest, from the most athletic to the most tranquil, each of us possesses qualities and can, in one way or another, contribute their part to the collective effort.
A second important change is the notion of competition. Why challenge members of the same team against each other? For Teamway, it is preferable to create a notion of competition outside the group. The competitor is therefore no longer a colleague but a deadline, a resource, a stress, or an unprecedented situation! This encourages sharing, communication, and mutual aid among participants, rather than reinforcing existing problems and weaknesses.
Finally, based on our extensive experience, we have observed that even a good team cohesion activity never fully achieves its objective without a debriefing. Involved and engaged in team building, participants often lack the necessary perspective to properly analyze the situation and the actions taken. A debriefing, managed by an external observer, allows participants to better understand their successes, as well as any shortcomings and aspects to change or improve.
